Hello! I’m Harry Laidlaw, and I’m an Australian alpine skier. I started skiing at a very early age with two parents passionate about skiing and two older brothers to chase throughout the Australian mountains. This ignited by my obsession with, and passion for alpine skiing.

After representing Australia internationally for the past 10 years, I’m currently ranked 31st in the world for Giant Slalom (Australia’s best ever rank in this discipline), 2018 Winter Olympian and a multiple world championship competitor. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world doing what I love, and I show my gratitude through my unrelenting hard work, dedication, and focus.

Coming off a comeback season from an ACL injury, I had my most successful season yet and am looking to maintain my upward trajectory on the World Cup scene. My aspiration is to continue representing my country and become the best alpine skier.

Hugh Brooks – Strength and Condition coach

Miha Kosmač - Ski Technician

For six months of the year I am based in Innsbruck, Austria, where I train with the Global Racing ski team. The remainder of the year entails juggling my Paramedicine studies at the Victoria University, intense physical training, and working various jobs to fund my aspirations.

Australia is a summer-sport nation, and unfortunately, does not offer a great degree of financial support to their winter athletes, including alpine skiers; so, it is left to the athletes to fiscally support their professional journey.

Costs incurred include airfares and other travel expenses to and from different alpine regions for both training and competition, costs related to physical and on-snow training, as well as general day-to-day costs associated with living abroad.
